Summer School, Day 4

Friday's summer school bounty is going to enable the three of us (Emily, Mark, and me) to follow in the footsteps of William the Conqueror in 1066.  We will use it to leave Rye, East Sussex...

...and head to Hastings, also in Sussex (it's not very far),

...and thence to Battle, East Sussex...

...where we will stand at the spot where King Harold supposedly met his doom with a Norman arrow to his eye.

Friday will cover the hotel and gas and museum entrance fees.  What will Monday's dollars be used for?  Check back and see!

  1. Be sure to wear sunglasses at Battle, Jenn. Wouldn't want you to walk too closely in King Harold's footsteps.

  2. Welding goggles? In any event I'll watch out for wily Normans who pretend to retreat, thus leading me into a trap and shooting out my eye with a lucky arrow. :)
